Setbacks and Steps Forward.

Sorry for the delay in updates, we wanted to see how some of the events of the past week were going to play out before we posted about them.

Thursday Memphis saw his pediatrician and while she was impressed with his weight gain (now 8lbs 8oz!)  she was concerned that he was showing the early signs of heart failure. After she consulted with his cardiologist they decided to add a second medication to Memphis’ daily routine.

Saturday night we took Memphis to the ER after he had had consistant trouble breathing for over 30 minutes. They monitored him for a few hours, and one of his medications was increased.

Since then he has been doing consistently better. Today he had an appointment with his cardiologist which went very well. He seems to have expelled (thanks to the medications) some of the fluid that was building up around his lungs impairing his breathing. As he continues to gain weight and grow, we will need to continue to increase his doses.

In non health related news:

Memphis is getting baptized Saturday June 26th at St. Vincent de Paul in Petaluma at 2:30PM. You are all welcome to come, just send me a message to let me know if you are interested, and we will send you an evite with more information

I know the end of each post tends to turn to a big thank you fest, but I feel the need to reiterate our appreciation it each time.

Thank you all so much for your support, both emotional and financial. If you have donated and not received and email from me, you should be getting one in the next few days (I’m not a fan of canned responses, so it’s been a bit difficult to find the time to FINISH all the emails that I have started to you all).

You have all made a very large positive impact on our lives.
